Paul Roebuck passed r= ound copies of the accounts and talked them through.  If anyone has any comments regardi= ng the new format, please let him know.

How Parents Can Help Children Learn

 

Anne O’Connor i= nformed the meeting that Nick Austin was coming into the school on 22nd March to talk to the parents about ‘Acccelerated Learning’.  Nick has been working with the teac= hers on this subject and we hope to have a good turnout of parents.  A book will be on sale covering th= is subject.

 

TLC/DIY Weekend

 

Saturday 25th February : Graham Tucker thanked everyone who helped with clearing out The = Dell - a lot of work was done and the project has got off to a good start.<= /o:p>

 

Saturday 25th March : Graham mentioned that there will be a DIY day on 25th Ma= rch to finish clearing The Dell before the Waitrose Team Day.=

 

The Dell - Update

 

Graham Tucker informe= d the meeting that the project is currently within the £2000 budget and tha= nked Maria Jimenez for her kind donation of paints and brushes.  Graham passed a £500 cheque = from Waitrose to the PTA and another £500 from Waitrose will follow.  The plans for The Dell are progres= sing very well

 

Graham and the school= are to confirm dates for a Waitrose Tombola and Healthy Eating (Fruit & Vegetables) talk.

Family Fun Event (31st March 2006)=

 

Chris Greaves updated= the meeting on the format of the night which will be a typical quiz night.  Team numbers should ideally be 6.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>  Tickets will be £1 for adult= s and 50p for children, they can be purchased from Reception, Class Reps. or on t= he night.  Chris thanked Peter Ke= hoe for his posters advertising the event and a note will be put in the newsletter.  Any donations for prizes, i.e. bottles of wine would be appreciated.  Please bring your own refreshments= for the event.

 

May Day Fete

 

Theme INTERNATIONAL

 

Yvonne Brophy updated the meeting.

 

Letters have been sen= t to 75 local companies requesting donations of prizes and some good responses have been received including 20 tickets to Snakes & Ladders.  This year there will be a mixture = of established and new stalls including, sumo wrestling, small and large bouncy castles and auctions.  It was = agreed to put a poster in the book bags before the Fete so that parents are aware = of what the day offers.

 

The front cover of the programme will be designed by one of our children.  We are hoping to get a parent to d= esign the programme and a local printers to print free of charge.  A local estate agent will be adver= tising the fete with boards.

 

If you would like to help with the fete please contact Yvonne - there are a lo= t of enjoyable jobs to do!

 

Any Other Business

 

Ÿ      =    Playgrou= nd Steering Committee : Peter Kehoe outlined the exciting proposals for the works to the playground and will up= date at the next meeting.  It was mentioned that it would be nice for the drawing proposals to be displayed so that parents can get a better idea if things.

 

Ÿ      =    PTA Webs= ite : Paul Roebuck informed the meeting about the PTA website that he has created www.misog.com  Initial feedback is very positive = but he would be grateful for any more feedback and/or suggestions.

 

Ÿ      =    Class Re= ps : The possibility of re-introducing Class Reps w= as discussed.  It was felt that t= hese are very important roles.  C/F= to next meeting.
